How to Join

01 Submit Your Application

Complete the online form with your ICAN membership number (or student registration ID) and area of practice.

02 Verification

The secretariat verifies your standing with the Institute — typically completed within 3 business days.

03 Pay District Dues

Settle your annual district subscription via bank transfer or card, and receive your receipt of payment.Born in the era of virtual meetings, ICAN-IGDS stays connected to technical sessions on contemporary issues at every gathering.

04 Welcome Onboarding

Attend a welcome session, get added to official communication channels, and meet your district exco.

FAQ

Do I need to already be a Chartered Accountant to join?

No. Student affiliates who are registered with ICAN’s professional exams may join as Affiliate Members and transition automatically once chartered.

Can I belong to more than one district society?

ICAN members are typically registered to one primary district based on location or preference, though attendance at other districts’ open events is welcome.

How are MCPD hours tracked?

Attendance at accredited IGDS sessions is logged by the secretariat and reflected on your annual MCPD compliance statement.

What happens if my dues lapse?

A grace period of 60 days applies before member benefits (voting rights, discounted event pricing) are paused, pending renewal
