Who We Are
The dream for the formation of Ilupeju/Gbagada & District Society (IGDS) of ICAN was conceived in September 2018, it was approved as a full-fledged district society of ICAN by the Council of the Institute in March, 2020. The district was formally inaugurated by the 56th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Dame Onome Joy Adewuyi, FCA at a glamorous event on January 16, 2021 at the Banquet Hall of Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
Our Goal
Our goal is to be a model district and a point of positive reference for all District Societies. Our target are the young Accountants of the Institute
We are committed to being a model district in the following areas: ·
- FINANCIAL COMMITMENT – We have resolved to build a district with young and active members who will be financially committed to the Institute both at the district and National level. Payment of ICAN annual subscription and other dues will be a prerequisite to be a member of the district.
- CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE –It is our resolve to ensure our members attend and participate at all conferences – Annual Accountant Conference and Zonal conferences held across the regions.
- TRAININGS – The district came into existence at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when virtual meetings became the order of the day. We are committed to continuous training of our members; organizing technical sessions during meetings on contemporary issues and relevant topics.
